As Muslim women, we have the right to feel safe. Join us for an afternoon of self-defense, sisterhood, and resistance!

From street harassment to violence in our relationships, we can sometimes be made to feel like our safety and well being doesn’t matter.

We’ll teach some simple, yet effective moves (physical and verbal self-defense skills) and we’ll talk about the ways that we as Muslim women access safety, and carve out safer spaces for ourselves.

Date – Saturday February 7th – 1 to 4 P.M.

Location - Ryerson University Student Union at 55 Gould St.

This event is open to anyone who self-identifies as girl or woman that is Muslim through the spectrum of familial, spiritual, political, cultural, community and ancestral connections.

Come as you are. The workshop is designed for folks with varying levels of fitness and ability. No experience necessary.

The space is wheelchair accessible. Language interpreters available as well as child care (must be booked 48 hours in advance). TTC (upon request) snacks and water provided.

You must RSVP for this event. Please contact Anoodth Naushan at[email protected] and tell us if you are able to make it!
